Group 3. THE GREAT PANDEMIC AND THE ADAPTATION OF HEALTHCARE SYSTEMS TO THE 21st CENTURY

With nearly 3.5 million deaths from COVID19 and the worst economic shock since 1945, the pandemic crisis has been compared to world wars. Who is losing the war? Looking at the numbers, North America and the EU are the most afflicted (where 50% of the world’s health expenditure is concentrated). How can health and welfare systems be adapted to the risks and opportunities that the 21st century generates?
