A poet and storyteller, he collaborates regularly with various newspapers.
He has published collections of poetry and novels. In tutto c’è stata bellezza (Guanda), translated into fourteen languages, was the first book published in Italy. El País and El Mundo elected it best book of 2018. With his new novel, La gioia all’improvviso, Manuel Vilas was a finalist in the 2019 Planeta Prize.
